Following the SEDS “Beginner Route” what will you encounter?
Let‘s start, let’s go paddle first.
Many people may have gone on a standup paddleboard (SUP) trip before, whether it be at the beach, river, canal, or anywhere else…
But believe me, our River Kwai is not like anywhere else. Let’s get to know it better.
The river we will be playing on is a large and clear river that flows from a dam, some days it is calm and peaceful, while other days it flows strongly. We’ll let you know ahead of time what the river is like that day.
We will also teach you the basics of standup paddleboarding, such as getting up and falling down the board, paddling techniques, and how to be respectful and mindful of the river. We’ll have an informal chat and introduce ourselves to each other. And we haven’t even met yet, so it’s a great opportunity for us to get to know each other.
After finishing preparing, about 30 minutes, get ready, choose your life jacket, and use the restroom, put on sun cream.
Then, we will sit on the truck with “Uncle Pa the racing” who is a regular at SEDS
We will sit in the super classic mini bus (“Song Thaew” in Thai) and go to the SUP drop point. It will take about 15 minutes by car. Before we get there, we’ll make a stop to buy some water and energy drinks to prepare ourselves. And then we’ll have some fun.
The starting point for standup paddleboarding is where the fun begins.
The SUP launch point is called “Wat Tha Nam Tuen”
Getting in the River Kwai, paddle to the left and enter the left fork ….
This is an easy beginner route and it is a bit noisy on the river, it is important to hold left from the start. A member of staff will assist if necessary.
When you clear the fork, sit down, relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Ask the staff for a drink if you feel like it.
A stone is not hidden, just needs luck.
Later we will take a break for pictures before moving on down the river.
We will have a break for pictures and playing in the water. It is a beautiful viewpoint and we will stop here to time the highlight of the tour.
The zone that you will not forget SEDS
Another spot is the SUNSET!!!
We came here for this. If the sky is willing, we will see this view, we almost don’t want it to be dark. No need to say much, let the pictures speak for themselves.
And the final spot… “River Khwae Bridge”
The highlight of our trip …. If we’re lucky, we’ll see the train crossing the bridge, it’s a moment that can make us softly say Wow. If you understand the term “Thai train,” you will understand that sometimes it’s on time, and sometimes it’s late. But trust me, Between the sunset and the train, you can take a chance on which one you’ll get. If you’re lucky, you’ll get both. But if not, you can come back and relax.
The train, in the morning it will pass by around 9:30 – 10:00 and in the afternoon around 5:30 – 6:00
And this is our Beginner Route.
Finally, we will end up at our dock, which is the full 2.5-hour fun. For those who don’t want to go home or still have energy, you can go back to the hotel for a swim and come back for the party at midnight.
